Pathways

Members seeing training and ranking can train at The Long Beach Kickboxing Center in Long Beach which is the home of Kru Oum Ry, long time coaches certified by him, and many of his champions and fighters.

Members may also study with any of UKKA’s certified instructors world wide.

If a school or coach is not geographically close enough to you for regular training, you can form a UKKA officially recognized training group.

Seminars are available for schools/gyms who desire to host UKKA instructors to travel to them.

Online training may be done privately with a UKKA instructor via zoom. Seminars and workshops are also available via this format.

Instructors are required to maintain xx hours of annual training with Lok Kru Oum Ry or an instructor of xxxx rank. Hours may be done either all in person or a mix of in person and zoom but not totally zoom. Willingness for zoom training may be limited to be given by only certain instructors.

Instructor camps will be held annually. Attendance is not required, however camps are a good way to get one’s hours in as well as keep up with the current UKKA teaching.

Ranking and promotions will be conducted and awarded via UKKA guidelines.

Offical Training Groups

UKKA Official Training Groups are the perfect way for training if you don’t live geographically close to a certified UKKA instructor. Your training group can be any number of people from 2 or more. At least one member of the group must be a UKKA member. Only members will get rank so non members are welcome to train but they will cannot recieve any student and consequently instructor ranking unless an active member of the UKKA.

Training groups will be given an UKKA instructor to supervise their training by working through lesson plans on paper with them. It will be up to the group to train those lesson plans and keep a training log of them. The instructor will do periodic sessions with the group either in person or zoom or a combination. The UKKA supervising instructor will be the one responsible to test, grade, and rank the students. No student in the group can take the title of “instructor” until they are promoted to that rank by the UKKA.
